How to configure a single port ADSL modem to work in a network of three computers?

I have three computers in a network and a single port adsl modem. I want to share the internet connection on the network.

2. First you will need 3 IP Addresses from your ISP, then go and buy a switch, connect it to the modem, and then from the switch to each computer. The Expensive and hard solution would be to buy a router, which many people will recommend, but using a switch is so much easier.
3. If the modem is a "Router/modem" its pretty straightforward. Should be in your modem configuration. If it isn't, you'll need either a "Router" or to set up "Internet Connection Sharing" on the computer the modem is connected to.
4. Have one of them as a main server, then with the IP you've bought use a firewall/server to NAT your internal.....wait I'm going too far into this. Try and get a switch or a router. Switch would be more convinient if you don't have to pay for more IP's from your ISP.
