Why does my ADSL Internet connection get broken when i pick up a phone on the same line?
I have a BSNL connection. There is an ADSL splitter from which i use a phone and the modem. There is also a second phone in another room which uses the same number. When I pick up this phone, the modem gets disconnected, but connects again. Why does this happen, and how can I solve it?

- do you have a splitter on the other phone. All phones and fax's are ment to have one. Probably a silly answer! You pay good money for the internet, I would call your provider.
- Is this a wireless connection? My friend has an issue where his phone and router broadcast on the same frequency. Either get rid of the router, or the phone. Your other option is to take the drops everytime someone picks up the phone.
- Do you year a buzz in the phone line when you pick it up? Try using noise filters (z-filters) on the phone lines (do NOT use on DSL line). Otherwise, not sure.
- Hello buddy, You need a DSL filter installed before any telephone that you are planning to use to make and receive phone calls. A splitter is just going to split your phone connection into two or more. If you need more immediate help you can catch me on YM or AIM chat. Check my profile for my screenname. Talk to ya laters!
