What do I need to hook up my cable internet with wireless internet?

Im going to collage next year and my dorm does not have wireless internet yet. It only has cable internet. What do I need to make it wireless. I dont want RANGE because I dont want people going on it. Also I want it to be password. ALSO link one for me so I can see what it looks like.

3. try to get an access-point (a.k.a. wireless hub) installed in your dorm's LAN. most installations are easy using the manual and you can also set-up a password protection for your wireless hub.
