- A 54Mbps Wireless-G router from Linksys would be good for you. Linksys has very good customer support, and their products are very well made. I recommend (model number)WRT54G
- If the wireless adapter in yo9ur computer is B then you won't get more than 11 no matter how fast the router is. It doesn't matter if you just have one computer, though, because your cable connection is probably much slower than 11 anyway. You would onloy be able to use the higher speed if you were file sharing between computers on your home network.
- If you have 802.11b card a a/b/g router will only run at 11mg. You will need to upgrade you wireless card to run faster. I am using the linksys wrt54g with my cable and have had no problems
- Look at www.geeks.com or tigerdirect. They both have routers and adapters for a good price,,If you get a router that is capable of 108. your network adapter has to be compatible with that specific router. if you get a g it will work with both B and G. i have bought 4 wireless netgear routers from www.geeks. com for less than $20 each. I have had no problems with netgear. But a lot of people have not been able to get them to work..
