Speed Up Your Internet Connection

I recently bought a macbook and have been using our cable internet but want to start using wireless?

My partner wants to keep using cable for our PCs though. Is it possible to have cable and wireless internet on the one network? Ok so I checked my PC and it doesn't have a wifi card. So if I buy a wireless router from say dicksmith and just plug it into our cable router (sorry not sure what its called :S) should that be fine?

  1. ya its possible u need to buy n wifi router...
  2. I don't think it's possible to have wireless without being able to have wired access! Certainly the vast majority of wireless routers will also have ports for wired access

  4. Hi yeah sure it's possible but u'll need a router, it's cost about 80-250$ it depend the brand and wifi range and... linksys is great but it's expensive, d-link,smc,.. are good and cheap and if you wanna don't want to spend money.. u can use ur desktop computer ( it should has wifi card) to be a router in windows it's so simple just go 2 properties of ur connection and choose sharing .. then make a wifi ( ad-hoc ) connection
