Speed Up Your Internet Connection

What if an adsl filter is connected in reverse?

I accidentally connected the 'phone' exit of an adsl filter (of just one exit, not a splitter) to the land line and the actual entry line that is supposed to go to the landline to the actual phone. For months it worked great. Phones were ringing and we were talking and no internet loss at all. Is it normal to connect it that way? I mean is it the same? Because recently after months of this situation I've seen some connection instability and I wonder if it's the source.

  1. If it worked as is, then it shouldn't have been the cause. It could be the many months of usage it just started to lose integrity. Though the integrity could be a variant of problems such as lightning strikes to the phone/power cables if they aren't in surge protectors or the internet service provider is having issues with you connecting to it. If you are experiencing issues, you can contact your ISP and request service and state the problem you are having.
